Just like that, the 2019 college lacrosse season is officially here.
It all kicked off Friday night and carried through to Sunday afternoon, ending in time for fans, coaches and players alike to take in the New England Patriots' sixth-ever Super Bowl title. No shortage of strong storylines emerged from the region, too.
Thus, New England Lacrosse Journal presents its roundup of the biggest news and notes from opening weekend. Three teams from New England got their campaigns underway, while the majority will kick off this coming weekend. The Ivy League programs have to wait until mid February.
