As the 2018 season unfolded, Izzy Nixon (Greenwich, Conn.) of Yale and Kathryn Giroux of Dartmouth were neck-and-neck with various draw control records.
It was ultimately Giroux, with more one more game played, who captured the Ivy League all-time single-season record (133), while Nixon barely trailed behind (130). As for the national stage, it was Nixon who edged ahead in draw controls per game (8.67), finishing third in Division 1.
Both are seniors during 2019, and another battle could play out. However it goes, Yale head coach Erica Bamford can rest easy knowing she has one of the nation's best at her craft.
"Izzy is excellent on the draw and consistently gives us opportunities on the offensive end," Bamford said. "She has worked hard in the offseason with assistant coach Molly Hulseman on the draw, and we anticipate her playing a vital role in our success."
