Purely from a numbers standpoint, Division 2 is home to the smallest contingent of lacrosse in New England. There are only eight local teams in the Northeast 10, plus Post University down in Waterbury, Conn.
However, several strong programs call the region home, including defending national champions Merrimack. It comes as no surprise, then, that the Warriors lead New England Lacrosse Journal's preseason coaches poll.
But how do the region's other teams stack up? To answer that, we had local Division 2 coaches anonymously vote on their top five. Point totals were then sorted from highest to lowest to determine the order.
The results below are the 2019 preseason favorites in New England. Let’s get right into it.
