The only thing they lost all year was a coin flip.
A dominant regular season saw Westwood (Mass.) High School win every one of its 18 games, most by lopsided scores. But because there were two other unbeaten teams in the Division 1 South section the MIAA determined tournament seeding by coin flips.
Westwood lost.
On the eve of the tourney, senior captains Ashley Mackin, Abby Crowley and Anya Holland got a text from coach Margot Spatola, informing them they’d been slotted in as the No. 3 seed behind top-seeded Old Rochester and No. 2 Wellesley.
