Stop us if you’ve heard this one before, but welcome to a spring season that promises to be unlike any other.
In 2020, the concern was losing an entire Massachusetts girls lacrosse season, which turned into reality as the COVID pandemic worsened, ultimately forcing the MIAA in April to cancel seasons that had yet to get started.
The concern in 2021 is getting back on the field with so few known quantities, after teams and players across the state lost a full year of development.
What does that mean this spring? That coaching is perhaps more important than it ever was if teams are to reach their full potential.
