John Sexton, the defender from Sudbury, Mass., enjoyed a successful collegiate career at Notre Dame, earning nominations to the USILA All-America team three times (twice on the first team), and getting named the USILA Defender of the Year in 2018.

A second-round MLL draft pick by the Dallas Rattlers, Sexton emerged as one of the league’s top up-and-coming defensemen, but it didn’t last for long. Sexton opted to join the new Premier Lacrosse League for his second professional season.

Sexton still watches Notre Dame on television and follows Lincoln-Sudbury, even wishing his high school good luck en route to another championship. While he went to Notre Dame and admits “Rudy” is a good movie, it isn’t his favorite.
