As a player, Kristin Igoe Guarino (Framingham, Mass.) starred at Boston College. As a high school and club coach, she’s kept close ties with the program.
The underdog role? To her, it’s not something unfamiliar or intimidating.
Her undefeated Franklin High School team won’t be the favorite Thursday night when it plays powerful Westwood for the MIAA Division 1 championship. It will be the home team, though, with an opportunity in front of it.
“It’s not who we’re playing,” said Guarino. “It’s who plays the best for 50 minutes.”
