Games were closed to parents and family at Hotchkiss School this spring, which presented challenges, especially on Senior Day.
After the lost season of a year ago, the team’s six seniors would also be robbed of the kind of closure that this ceremony annually brings. Students were allowed at the games, but it wasn’t quite the same.
“That was one of the hard things about this season,” said senior defender Ivy Bhandari, one of the team’s captains.
The parents wouldn’t stay away completely. They decorated the locker room before the last home game. Coach Anna Traggio produced fathead images of their faces so at least their visages, in a way, could look on.
