The 2017-18 National Lacrosse League season ended on a disappointing note for the New England Black Wolves, losing in the first round of the NLL playoffs.
But even with the frustrating ending, Black Wolves general manager Rich Lisk couldn’t hide his enthusiasm for the following season. He said: “I’m more excited about next year and this offseason this early than I’ve ever been before.”
Lisk would have to wait longer than expected for the start of the new season as a labor dispute pushed back the start of the 2018-19 season.
Despite the delay, despite roster changes, despite a statistical leader opting not to report to training camp, Lisk never lost his excitement and optimism when the opener finally approached.
