SUDBURY, Mass. – The recent New England Lacrosse Showcase offered a new opportunity for upcoming players to play in front of college coaches.
NELS is a final chance for high school teams to unite after their season and compete without their graduated seniors. It’s a very organic event, as the regional players compete without their coaches, so the natural tendencies play out on the field.
If a player wants to play offensive midfield, he gets a chance to do so by staying on after playing defense.
It’s a loose but competitive atmosphere that shows a lot about the teams and the players.
