Picture a random weekday afternoon. Lacrosse season in the spring is still months away. Yet these are the moments that will separate winners and losers when game time arrives.
In these moments, at the Middlesex School in Concord, Mass., you will likely find goalie Michael Allieri studying game film or imploring teammates to take yet another round of shots on him. Likewise, chances are high that midfielder and faceoff man extraordinaire Harry Freidman will be working on his grip or self-identifying weaknesses to eliminate.
This shared commitment and love of the game has forged a unique bond between the two teammates.
“They’ve both found their passion,” said Middlesex coach Doug Worthen. “Their passion is their craft. They’re both in love with their position. They are full in, thinking about it all the time, practicing it all the time.”
