Two years removed from a share of an Independent School League title, the majority of the players who formed the identity of that Noble & Greenough boys’ lacrosse team have since graduated.
Only four players who made key contributions for Nobles during their title run remain on the roster, head coach Matt Rowley said, none of whom topped 30 points during that magical run in 2018.
Rowley, now in his seventh season as head coach at the school in Dedham, Mass., is tasked with overhauling an offense that was consistently good in 2019 – the Bulldogs scored less than seven goals in a game just once in league play – but seldom great, topping 10 goals in less than half of their league contests.
“We’ll need to find an offensive identity that allows us to score goals and to maximize our possessions,” Rowley said.
