Expand your horizons

By Malcolm ChaseOctober 1, 2018

This column is a call to action for all of our readers to extend themselves beyond their immediate community or club, and connect with someone in another town, state or country to see if there is something you can learn from and teach to another lacrosse player with a completely different background than your own.

This is my favorite element of our game, the sense of camaraderie I feel with other lacrosse players whether I’m in Boston, Vail, Lake Placid, Hawaii or Canada. If you do not have the ability to travel immediately, talk with your family and set a goal to get to a tournament at a destination you’ve never visited.

For now, social media is a great platform to reach out to other players and give them some love on a post or tag them in a cool post of your own. Technology is a huge advantage for this generation to develop their skills and IQ.
