Just three years after joining Division 1, on the heels of a New Hampshire Division 2 championship in 2014, Bedford pulled within one goal with a minute to play in the state-title game against Souhegan before ultimately falling, 10-9.
Last season, in a return to the championship game, the Bulldogs found themselves leading in the final minute before Bishop Guertin tied the game and eventually won in overtime, 10-9.
A mere bounce in the Bulldogs’ favor, in one way or another, could have changed their fate, but instead they are left with a hunger to finish the job and get those bounces back in their favor this spring.
“The one-goal loss in the championship has happened two years in a row,” said Bedford coach Christine Hodgdon, who enters her 10th season at the helm.
