By now, Katherine McIntire is a well-known quantity across the NEPSAC.

To her teammates at Phillips Academy Andover, she is seen as a worker whose tireless effort in pursuit of the ball sets the tone for everyone surrounding her. Opponents know her best as a top-scoring threat from the midfield who also is particularly effective at the draw.

Now a senior at Phillips Andover, McIntire — a native of Andover, Mass., who now lives in Boxford — officially has stepped into a leadership role for the Big Blue as one of the team captains. For head coach Heidi Wall, that honor is a natural extension of the leadership that McIntire has shown by her example for years.
