MANCHESTER, N.H. -- Last year Southern New Hampshire went 6-6, with two wins coming against local rival and conference foe Franklin Pierce.
Like many teams in the area, the Penmen's schedule was compromised due to COVID protocols so travel was minimal. Three losses to crosstown Saint Anselm are indicative of the overly local flavor.
However, this season SNHU looks to join Saint Anselm as a noteworthy Division 2 team in the Northeast-10. The first step to 2022 success came in a fall ball jamboree hosted by the Penmen, with the UNH club team and Division 3 Keene State also on hand.
SNHU split its two games, dispatching UNH in a hard-fought battle that saw it be challenged by the transition offense of the Wildcats.
