Yale has released its 2023 schedule and, as expected, it’s a solid mix of challenging non-conference opponents, long-standing rivalries and – of course – a difficult Ivy League slate.
Yale opens its slate with a pair of scrimmage dates. The first is just a short trip down the Merritt Parkway on Feb. 4 to visit Fairfield, which is coached by former Yale assistant Andrew Baxter. These two programs have scrimmaged in the preseason each year since Baxter joined that program.
A week later, on Super Bowl Sunday, Yale will host both RIT and Wesleyan for scrimmages in New Haven. Yale and RIT played in the preseason a year ago, with RIT holding its own against the Ivy heavyweight.
All three programs should be considered contenders in their respective conferences and divisions, making these scrimmages an excellent final tune-up before the regular season gets underway.
