Even before Yale’s Izzy Nixon was inserting her name into the Ivy League record books, she carried a hefty résumé of lifetime experiences with her.
Drawing from an inspired upbringing led by motivated parents who wanted their children to experience the beauty of outdoors, the senior faceoff stalwart from Greenwich, Conn., continues to add to all aspects of curriculum vitae in impressive fashion.
“My family has always been extremely outdoorsy. We have always grown up doing very different vacations than many of our friends in that we took it to the west and have been hiking national parks every summer together as a family,” said Nixon, who has now hiked 26 national parks with her family.
