The athletic programs at Xaverian Brothers (Mass.) High School have attracted and produced some of the best talents in the region, and the lacrosse program has been at the forefront of that in recent years.
After spending six years as an assistant coach with the boys team at Medfield (Mass.) High School, Daggett Morse was hired as Xaverian’s new head coach in September of 2019.
Morse has brought a commanding swagger to the team that has made the program even more enticing to the region’s top players. A big part of that is his combination of intensity and practicality.
When he was hired at Xaverian, he proclaimed to be in a “Josh McDaniels situation” — a reference to the former New England Patriots offensive coordinator who left to coach the Denver Broncos in 2009, returned to the Patriots after being fired, then became head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders in 2022.
