Losing four of your five top scorers is never an ideal starting point for any team, but defending Independent School League co-champion Governor’s Academy is brimming with confidence as it readies for a new season.

That's thanks, in large part, to the play of junior faceoff specialist Nathan Laliberte, arguably the region's best at his position.

The Auburn, N.H., native transferred from Pinkerton Academy to the prep school in Byfield, Mass., after his freshman year, looking to challenge himself even further academically and athletically. He proved more than ready for the jump in 2018, leading the ISL with an 83 percent success rate on draws.
