As the sports lockdown caused by the COVID-19 pandemic moves well into its second month, it’s not just the spring high school seasons that have been affected, already getting canceled in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine.
It’s a unique situation that has the potential to hurt not just potential recruits, who rely on these showcases to catch the eye of college coaches; but also clubs, which rely on revenue from the athletes and families; and the tournaments themselves.
