Will Sands spent nearly an entire year wondering what might have been during his first season in Major League Lacrosse, as a broken hand ended a promising rookie season after just five games.
This past weekend, the Boston Cannons attackman delivered a reminder of what may still come, dishing out a career-high six assists in Boston’s 16-10 pummeling of the Dallas Rattlers to start the summer 2-0.
“With two training camps and (the season opener) under his belt, you could see him building back that confidence and comfort level with the game speed,” Cannons coach Sean Quirk said. “Then he comes back and is that quarterback of our offense that we anticipated he was going to be and that he'll play going forward. We're excited to see that continue.”
