One of the nation's deepest lacrosse hotbeds resides in Connecticut's Fairfield County, and Harvard picked up one of its best players when Ridgefield midfielder Ray Dearth made his pledge in early August.
Dearth adds to a Class of 2020 for first-year Crimson coach Gerry Byrne that's coming together nicely in a short period of time.
The Dearth name already carries plenty of clout at the Division 1 level. His two older brothers, Cal (Boston University) and Peter (Syracuse), have already made their mark, as the former was a USILA Honorable Mention All-American for the Terriers, and the latter has appeared in every game for the Orange the last two seasons. Cal also plays for the MLL's Boston Cannons.
