From her position in the Phillips Exeter Academy goal, Tia Reaman enjoys a great view of what should be one of New England’s best defenses this spring.
That is, she does when she stays in the goal. Which she doesn’t always do.
“If she could, she would run the ball down and score,” said senior defender Rosemary McIlroy. “She’s not afraid to take risks with the ball. I’ve seen a lot of goalies who are good at saving, but to see the way she clears is great.”
Both with her top Mass Elite team and at Exeter, where she split the workload as a sophomore in 2019, Reaman (Hingham, Mass.) has established herself not just as a superb shot-stopper, but one who’ll take the ball and run with it.
