Like many sisters close in age, Payton and Fallon Vaughn (Concord, Mass.) did most things together growing up.
For example, they took tennis and swimming lessons together because, according to Payton, it kept their mom from driving to two different places.
Payton, who started playing lacrosse in the third grade in order to meet new friends, also influenced her younger sister to play lacrosse.
“My mom was like, ‘Look how much fun Payton is having,” Fallon said. “I wanted to do whatever Payton was doing. I looked up to her when I was younger, but I was so competitive.
