It wasn’t a great Sunday for either Tufts lacrosse program.
The women were defeated by Salisbury, 14-13, in the NCAA championship game in Salem, Va., and the men -- considered by many to be the favorites at this stage of their Division 3 tournament -- were beaten, 18-16, by RIT in the semifinals earlier in the day in Rochester, N.Y.
For the men, timing might not have been everything, but it was something.
“In a normal year that would have been game 22 for us,” said Tufts head coach Casey D’Annolfo (South Windsor, Conn.). “Instead it was game 10.
