For Patrick Crogan, it starts with the socks. But it doesn’t end there.
The Lexington (Mass.) High School midfielder and Laxachusetts player became the latest junior from the region to make his Division 1 college commitment this week, choosing Georgetown. It was a decision he attributed to the program, the passion of the coaches, the academics and the area, remembering fondly a trip to Washington, D.C., he took in the eighth grade.
“I took my time looking at a lot of these schools,” he said. “I know a lot of the (top juniors) went off the board right away but I wanted to take my time, talk to my parents and make the right choice.”
Make no mistake, Crogan is one of those top juniors. The National Lax Federation’s Super 60 rankings released this week included him at No. 59. He was one of five Laxachusetts players to make the list.
