John Mathes (Ridgefield, Conn.) isn’t a household name in lacrosse.
At least, not yet.
The hard-charging midfielder has made a name for himself in the Patriot League as Lafayette’s most versatile scoring midfielder. He’s the kind of player who made the majority of his impact as a ball-carrying dodger early on in his career, but he has blossomed into a more dangerous threat to score off the ball as well.
It’s something that Leopards head coach Pat Myers and his staff noticed early on in the recruiting process.
