Kennady Marino may be athletic. But, as she likes to emphasize, she’s more than just an athlete.
It’s a combination of assets that took her name off the recruiting board earlier this month. The East Longmeadow (Mass.) High School junior standout was offered and made a verbal commitment to UMass.
“A lot of people thought it was easy,” she said. “I’m athletic so I’m good at sports. But I’ve put a lot of work into it.”
That work includes countless hours on the wall. Club development with DEWLAX. Hard training to get her mile time down to 5:40 (from 6:30).
