The NCAA tournament, particularly final four weekend, holds a fond and permanent place in the hearts of all lacrosse fans.
While there seems to be an endless supply of viewing options almost year-round thanks to the emergence of professional leagues, for many years, these games were the epitome of the sport and the only games to appear on television, the only time we could share our love for the sport with others.
I started playing lacrosse as a freshman in high school, and I remember making it a tradition to go over to my friend’s house on Memorial Day, and a group of us from the lacrosse team worked on homework and watched the NCAA Division 1 men’s championship.
One year we even had a group project and, I don’t remember how, but we managed to incorporate something about the Johns Hopkins lacrosse team into the duel between Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr.
