In 2021, nobody really expected all that much from Fairfield Prep.

There was no 2020 season in Connecticut, the starting lineup was mostly underclassmen, and the team's schedule was loaded with some of the best programs in the Northeast.

After their first four games, the Jesuits were .500. Then something clicked. They would go 9-2 through the rest of the regular season, win their conference, and beat perennial powerhouses Greenwich, Darien and Wilton before ultimately narrowly losing to Ridgefield in the Class L title game.

Now, with 75 percent of the roster returning, it enters this season more Goliath than David.
