The second wave of recruits from the Class of ‘25 is finishing its crash upon the shores of commitment. Offers are out, players are deciding and schools are moving on down their wish lists.
Last week, the first recruit from Vermont to commit to a Division 1 program in the ‘25 class pledged to Hobart. That was Champlain Valley Union swingman Peter Gilliam (Charlotte, Vt.).
Gilliam, who plays his club ball for 4 Leaf, is a hard-running offensive playmaker who is a bit outside of Hobart’s usual recruits. This is a school that’s taken to grabbing kids gifted with gigantism more than those swift of feet, but molds are made to be broken.
In a world of position-less lacrosse -- specifically in settled six-on-six situations -- Gilliam is a guy who fits into a lot of spots.
