In normal times, Lilla Reinertson would be a college commit already.
The senior at Governor’s Academy has always been talented enough for the Division 1 level: Reinertson led the Independent School League in scoring as a freshman in 2019 with 64 goals. But an ACL injury that fall, plus the NCAA granting an extra year of eligibility to student-athletes, has left her without a home for now.
Reinertson participated in tournaments and camps across the country this summer in order to catch the eye of college coaches.
“I kind of got lost in the midst of everything,” Reinertson said of her recruiting process. “It’s tough, but when you’re passionate about something, there’s nothing really stopping you. You just keep pushing through.”
