Earlier this summer, a team composed of club players from the New Hampshire Tomahawks, Fighting Clams and New England Twisters took the field as the New England Blazers.
The team did well competing in the Bulldog Brawl. It advanced in style before bowing out in the semifinals to the eventual champion of the tournament. That promising result led to a more formal partnership between the three clubs and the addition of another.
Piatelli Lacrosse will join the next iteration of the team, which is fitting since the founder, Jack Piatelli, was a star for the original Boston Blazers teams in the 1980s alongside NH Tomahawks director Chris Cameron.
National teams and super teams have become something of a norm in the club circuit, but this union is a little bit different. These are four of the most competitive club teams in the region putting forth their best players to compete in one very high-level tournament.
