Ask the coaching staff at any top-level high school lacrosse program what the secret is to long-term success and they will all tell you the same thing. It starts with the youth program.
If kids are playing, having fun and developing a love for lacrosse, they arrive at the high school level prepared and eager to take the next step.
In Darien, Conn., this has been the norm for years. Hundreds of youth players come through their program every year. Many of those players go on to earn All-Conference, All-State and even All-American honors before going on to play at some of the top collegiate programs in the nation.
But sometimes, a single team in that youth program sticks out as special.
