Last year, the Massachusetts Youth Lacrosse organization put together the first Massachusetts lacrosse convention.
In the 12 months since, a long-storied tradition known as “Lax Con” was deemed surplus to requirements by USA Lacrosse. That announcement created a vacuum that was filled by the very convention that is taking place on Sunday at Gillette Stadium -- the New England Youth Lacrosse Convention.
I would be remiss if I didn't mention that I spoke at the initial convention last year (on how social media awareness is key to promoting your youth organization) and I am scheduled to speak this year.
As followers know, I am the head JV coach and assistant varsity coach at Hopkinton (N.H.) High School. To that end, my topic this year is the power of playing JV for student-athletes who don’t make varsity in their first years of competition.
