The Division 1 college season has seen a number of teams rise through the ranks and prove themselves on the national stage. This spring has also seen a number of teams stumble through the first third of their schedule.
With conference play already underway, an NCAA bid seems out of reach for several teams — two of which were touted as the most promising duo in New England.
So, what exactly happened to Vermont and Bryant?
For Vermont, the narrative that surrounded the team was probably incorrect from the start. The fast-paced, high-volume shooting fun-and-gun style was a great story. In reality, that is not how the Catamounts wanted to play given their ability to control games via the mechanism known as Tommy Burke.
