Big news dropped over the weekend in the Massachusetts high school lacrosse world, as Xaverian hired Daggett Morse to take over its program and succeed Tim Gardner.
Morse, who comes over from Medfield (Mass.) as the Warriors' defensive coordinator, helped that program win three consecutive Division 2 state titles from 2014-16. Since 2015, Morse has also coached the top-level (AA) team for Laxachusetts and serves as the director of social media for the National Lacrosse Federation. He played four years at Hartwick College and competed in the BUCS league while earning his master's at the University of Leicester.
Now, Morse takes over a Catholic Conference program that went 16-4 in the spring before losing to Duxbury, 9-8, in the Division 1 South sectional quarterfinals.
We spoke to Morse over the phone to get his thoughts on the new gig.
