Wayland’s Carly Camphausen set to bring balancing act to Brown

When the college recruiting contacts started two Septembers ago, Carly Camphausen thought she had her plan all mapped out.

An excellent student at Wayland (Mass.) High School as well as a lacrosse player, she was receiving Division 1 interest, but admittedly not putting much enthusiasm toward it.

“I just didn’t think it was the right balance for me,” she said. “I talked to (Division 1 coaches) but I told them it really wasn’t my focus. Most of my junior year I was focused on the NESCAC.”
