PROVIDENCE, R.I. — This fall is packed full of tournaments for prospective student-athletes.
One of the more unique ones is the New England Coaches Showcase. In its first year of operation, the event took place over the weekend on the campus of Johnson and Wales University.
Essentially an instructional showcase, players from all over New England and as far as California showed up to play in front of coaches from more than a dozen Division 3 schools.
Bowdoin and Tufts represented the NESCAC, while schools from the Little East, the Conference of New England (formerly the Commonwealth Coast), the GNAC and the NEWMAC were also coaching and evaluating players -- including rotating goalie clinics throughout the day. Those players ranged from current seniors ('25s) to sophomores ('27s).
