It was an ISL championship tournament rematch of a game last week that saw Governor's handle Middlesex comfortably. But Middlesex proved that the playoffs were a different kind of animal.
The sixth-seeded Zebras took down two-time ISL boys lacrosse finalist Governor’s, 12-9, in Wednesday's quarterfinals thanks to a three-goal fourth-quarter run dominated by long and drawn-out possessions.
Each squad really did throw everything it had at one another, as this was a game that was tied for the majority of regulation with each squad tugging and pulling at the other until the final 12 minutes.
