This is it. The wait is over. Well ... almost.
This last weekend in January brings a number of scheduled scrimmages to the fore as Providence, Quinnipiac and UMass are among those programs taking on out-of-conference opponents in an effort to sharpen up before the real action begins.
While these aren’t the final scrimmages for all of these teams, they are great opportunities to evaluate depth charts and blood in new talent.
However, the marquee clash is between two programs that are on the rise. Merrimack will travel to the unbelievably frigid Lake Champlain Valley on Saturday to battle last year’s media and regional darlings Vermont.
