Vermont: 2019 high school state champions

By Scott SouzaJuly 29, 2019

Champlain Valley Union is again atop the Vermont high school lacrosse world.

Champlain Valley Union boys lacrosse coach Dave Trevithick tells his players at the start of each season that it is not the program’s storied history that they have to aspire to live up to, it is their own potential.

Once again, CVU did both as it closed out a seventh straight Division 1 state championship with a 15-13 victory against Burr and Burton Academy.

“We made it clear from day one that none of the guys on the team were there for one, two and three,” the coach said. “They weren’t there for the start of the streak, so that’s just a number they should get out of their own heads. Every year is different and every team is different.”
