The Champlain Valley Union boys lacrosse team was set to begin a rather difficult stretch of its season.
Not only was the team beginning a stretch of three games in seven days – two of which were on the road – but both away games were against the team’s biggest rivals: Burr and Burton, and Essex Junction.
If the trip to Burr and Burton was any indication of how the week was going to go, it was a bad omen.
The team’s bus broke down in Rutland, and the team sat on the side of the road for an hour and a half before the JV bus arrived to rescue them.
