New England lacrosse fans will again be spoiled early on.
Boston College and UMass, the top two teams in our preseason coaches poll, are set for another Bay State classic on Thursday. The Eagles (2-0), national runner-up each of the past two seasons, will travel to Amherst, Mass., and meet a Minutewomen (1-0) program looking to make it eight NCAA tournament trips in nine seasons.
The early-season stakes are high, but mutual admiration might be even higher.
"I have the utmost respect for BC and what they’ve done," UMass coach Angela McMahon told New England Lacrosse Journal.
