HAMPSTEAD, N.H. -- The sun is not up yet.
But that hasn’t stopped dozens of local players from throwing on their box lacrosse gear and going full-tilt at six in the morning.
It’s quiet to start. Everyone is nervous because everyone is capable. This is a box lacrosse tryout for the PBLA’s New England Chowderheads.
Head coach Marty Bowes and assistant coach Ryan Conwell led roughly 60 box lacrosse hopefuls onto the floor to go over the day’s events. Some of these players have already been drafted, like team captain Kyle Baker. Baker played his college lacrosse at Merrimack, but has been building a strong box presence in Maine with the Northmen.
