It’s been a whirlwind couple weeks for Boston College coach Acacia Walker-Weinstein.
Eleven days ago, she coached BC to its first national championship, the Eagles pulling away in the second half to defeat Syracuse, 16-10.
Five days ago, she saw her best player, senior attack Charlotte North, get honored with the Tewaaraton Trophy, presented to the best player in college lacrosse (North added IWLCA Division 1 Player of the Year to her haul on Thursday).
This week, North, assistant coach Kayla Treanor and three stars from BC’s recent past -- Kenzie Kent (Norwell, Mass.), Sam Apuzzo and Dempsey Arsenault (New Hampton, N.H.) -- are in Sparks, Md., trying out for the U.S. Women’s National Team that will represent our country at next summer’s Women’s World Championship.
