
The NESCAC is one of the deepest leagues in the entirety of Division 3 lacrosse. With the likes of Tufts, Bowdoin, Amherst and Wesleyan all making the NCAA tournament last season, it’s hard to argue against its place in the national hierarchy.
However, with top-level recruits and well-run programs, the competition is fierce internally as well as externally.
Even as those four teams rise, every year brings a new team to the fore. Two teams that finished at .500 last season are looking to be "that team" in Middlebury and Williams.
Even teams at the bottom of the standings have a chance to rebound -- Bates has a new coach in Dan Annino, and we saw what a difference a new coach could make with Sean Woods at Amherst and Bill Mason at Bowdoin.
