BC High is the only team in the state that’s defeated St. John’s Prep in 2021.
That being said, it also lost to those Eagles twice, most recently in the Catholic Conference final by a score of 14-4. That result could have sent BC High into a tailspin, but instead, it galvanized the team and it tore through the playoffs with renewed vigor.
One challenge was Franklin in the South final, but an explosive first half ensured that it won the contest in comfort, 14-9.
There will be little comfort as the squad lines up against a fierce St. John’s Prep team on Wednesday (7:30 p.m.) in Danvers, but champions are not built in comfort; they are forged in a kiln of adversity.
