The Premier Lacrosse League will play its third championship game in Washington, D.C., on Sunday at noon. In a rematch of the 2020 game, Chaos LC -- coached by recent podcast guest Andy Towers (New Canaan, Conn.) -- will take on the two-time defending champion Whipsnakes LC.
Despite the pandemic, the PLL managed to navigate a multitude of pitfalls and pulled off a successful season with live games nearly every weekend across the country.
It’s been a historic season for the PLL. Paul and Michael Rabil’s gambit paid off in a huge way. In the offseason, they acquired their former competitor, Major League Lacrosse, and added the Cannons franchise to bring their total amount of teams to eight.
As a result of that deal, another influx of talent flooded the league for the 2021 season. With eight teams and 25 roster spots each, this was the most competitive and skilled allotment of professional lacrosse players ever.
